Former Shell executive David Lawrence has long provided support for education in the energy field, including several scholarship programs and awards. One program David Lawrence supported during his time with Shell and afterwards is the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Military Veterans Scholarship Program, which provides education funding for those who have served America in its armed forces.
The AAPG Military Veterans Scholarship Program helps student veterans achieve more and find career opportunities in the world of geoscience. Both active military personnel and veterans who have been honorably discharged are welcome to apply.
Funds, which range from $2,000 to $4,000, can be used to cover educational expenses and other costs of school attendance at a four-year accredited university or college. If you qualify and are interested in applying for the AAPG scholarship, you can begin the application process on January 15th.
The application period closes on April 15th, with recipients notified one month later. The results of the process are announced to the public on or before June 1st.
